  • Academia-Industry Dialogue on Language Technology (Focus Area: Speech Technology) (25th June, 2019)
    FICCI-ILIA organized the Academia- Industry Dialogue on Language Technology (with focus area: Speech Technology) on 25th June 2019 at MeitY, New Delhi. The objective of the workshop was to discuss and brainstorm with various industry thought leaders and leading start-ups working in the areas of speech and language technology to identify ideas to collaborate in the speech technology development projects led by MeitY. IT Secretary, Shri Ajay Prakash Sawhney, opened the floor for a discussion commenting on the special emphasis that has been given by the Government of India on technological advancements in speech technology with a focus on Indian languages. He reiterated that voice technology is one of the key focus areas for the government in order to reach the next billion online users in India. The discussion saw the participation of various industry organisations such as Gnani. AI, Saarthi.AI and Uniphore as well as academic and government institutions such as IIT Madras, CDAC among others.
